Calhoun Co. Man Accused of Starving Horses

Calhoun Co., S.C (WOLO)– A Calhoun County man is accused of allowing horses to starve. Sheriff Thomas Summers says Ronald Hevener is facing eight counts of ill-treatment of animals. Investigators say on May 12th 29 horses were seized from Hevener’s property in Saint Andrews. Sheriff Summers says several residents, and business owners, have donated food and man power needed to help keep the deprived horses healthy.
