Student trash becomes yard sale treasure to aid charity

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The annual rite of dorm room housecleaning is helping Habitat for Humanity as students clear out their residence halls before leaving for the summer.

University of South Carolina’s housing program is holding a huge yard sale on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Greene Street intramural field near Colonial Life Arena.

Items such as donated clothing, household goods, appliances and furniture are being sold to benefit Habitat.

Early bird admission is $5.00 from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Admission is free after 8 a.m.
