Political scene about to heat up in South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – South Carolina is about to become a political beacon for the day. Hillary Clinton is making her first campaign visit to our state Wednesday afternoon, and she will be right here in Columbia. During her trip, Clinton will deliver the keynote address for the 3rd annual Day in Blue. It’s an event for the South Carolina House Democratic Women’s Caucus and the South Carolina Democratic Women’s Council. Clinton also plans to speak with minority women, small business owners. ABC Columbia will be on the campaign trail and bring you the latest throughout the day. South Carolina tends to draw political candidates because we hold the first in the south primary. On the other side of the political spectrum, Ohio Governor John Kasich is making a visit to the coast Wednesday night. He’s scheduled to attend a Charleston County GOP reception. Kasich is currently testing the waters for a run at the White House in 2016. He has made a couple visits to south carolina over the last few months, and in recent weeks, Kasich has ramped up his pre-presidential activities, making appearances in New Hampshire and establishing a political committee.
