Man arrested in Richland Co linked to charges in Mexico

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Deputies in Richland County have taken a man into custody wanted in Mexico on murder and weapons charges. Juan Pablo Guzman-Juarez is behind bars at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, charged with trafficking cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. The sheriff’s department says it was looking into a tip from the community about illegal drug activity around Sparkleberry Lane Wednesday, and narcotics investigators reported seeing Guzman-Juarez drive to the location and meet with an unknown suspect. They were able to confiscate a half pound of marijuana and 25 grams of cocaine from his car. Then during a record check, the sheriff’s department determined Guzman-Juarez is a deported felon.
