New SC State Board to meet for second time

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO) – Tuesday marks a second meeting of the minds of the newly formed Board of Trustees at South Carolina State University. Members will gather at 10am at Lowmam Hall. The agenda points out the board will receive an update from the school’s acting president W. Franklin Evans and the vice president for finance and management. Members will also hear more about South Carolina State’s capital campaign. The school is currently millions of dollars in debt. It’s what prompted lawmakers to remove South Carolina State’s former Board of Trustees last month and replace it with an interim board.
