Red Cross asks for blood donations this summer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Memorial Day kicked-off the unofficial start to summer. While summer activities can be fun, they also often keep blood and platelet donors from giving. This can make it difficult for the American Red Cross to collect the blood required to meet patient needs. That’s why they’re asking individuals to choose their day to donate blood and help patients in need. There will be plenty of opportunities to give blood across the Midlands for the next two weeks, starting Monday.
