SCDOT director submits letter of resignation

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The head of South Carolina’s Department of Transportation is leaving. We have learned Secretary Janet Oakley issued a letter of resignation to Governor Nikki Haley Monday. ABC Columbia received a copy of that letter. In it, Oakley says she looks forward to spending more time with her husband at their home on Edisto Island. She also says she is “happy to remain in this position” until a replacement is found. Haley initially named Oakley to the position in April 2014. We have reached out to the Governor’s Office and are waiting for a comment on the resignation.
