Voorhees breaking ground on new $3M student center

DENMARK, S.C. (AP) — Voorhees College is breaking ground on a new $3 million student center.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports that (http://bit.ly/1KHVEq9 ) the historically black college in Denmark has been planning the center for three years and breaks ground on Wednesday.
The new building is expected to be finished in about a year.
It will be used for student activities and include a bowling alley, a small theater, an Internet cafe and offices for student government. It will also include housing suites for at least 30 students.
