Repair work continues on I-26 after fiery crash

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – State transportation officials are looking to repair parts of I-26 outside Columbia after a fiery crash last month, and it will affect drivers. Friday at 8pm, the inside lane in each direction around the 105 mile marker will close, and they won’t be open again until Monday morning at six. Officials say they awarded close to a $650,000 contract to address issues from a 10-vehicle crash. A fuel tanker was involved, causing a massive fire. It damaged the barrier walls and highway between the Piney Grove Road and St. Andrews Road exits.
