Crownover Expected to Sign with Nationals Monday

Clemson, S.C. — Former Clemson standout and ACC Pitcher of the Year Matthew Crownover is expected to sign a contract with the Washington Nationals Monday. Crownover was drafted in the sixth round of the MLB draft on Thursday. His contract is expected to be around $160,000. Crownover went 10-3 in 2015 with a 1.82 ERA. He earned first-team All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball. The former Tiger also ranks in the top 10 all-time at Clemson in ERA and his 25 wins are tied for seventh-most in school history.
