Deputies: Body found floating in Northeast Columbia

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Deputies in Richland County say they’re looking into how a man’s body ended up in a body of water in northeast Columbia. The sheriff’s department responded to the 200 block of Berry Tree Lane Wednesday afternoon. A young man had called deputies, saying he was checking on his father when he noticed a human body, floating in Burnside Lake. Deputies have confirmed the victim is not the young man’s father, but he is a black male. An investigation is underway.
