Funeral arrangements set for 9 victims of church massacre

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO/AP) – We continue to honor the nine victims of the Charleston church massacre, who were killed a week ago. Here’s information that ABC Columbia has gathered, pertaining to their funerals. Rev. Clementa Pinckney: Funeral Services for The Honorable Reverend Clementa Carlos Pinckney will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the T.D. Arena at the College of Charleston, 301 Meeting Street, Charleston, South Carolina, with burial in the St. James A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 5344 Highway 41, Marion, South Carolina. Senator Pinckney will lie in state in The Rotunda of the South Carolina State House, Columbia, South Carolina, on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. He will also be viewed on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the St. John A.M.E. Church, 2740 Tillman Rd., Ridgeland, SC. A family visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church, 110 Calhoun St., Charleston, SC. Leevy’s Funeral Home, Columbia, SC is in charge of arrangements. Sharonda Singleton: The relatives and friends of Reverend Sharonda Singleton are invited to attend her Funeral Service 2:00pm Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 7396 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Interment will be private. Viewing will only be held at the church from 10:00am until the hour of service. The Ivy Beyond the Wall Service will begin at 1:00pm. Cynthia Graham Hurd: A wake will run from 8:30-10 p.m. Friday at the Emanuel AME in Charleston. A ceremony will be conducted during the first half hour by the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, of which Hurd was a member. Hurd’s funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Emanuel AME, including a burial service at the church cemetery. The 16 branches of the Charleston Public Library, where Hurd worked, will close Saturday to allow staff to attend the service. Rev. Susie Jackson: Funeral services will held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emanuel AME in Charleston. Jackson was Sanders’ aunt and their funerals will be held together. Ethel Lance: Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m., and the funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Royal Missionary Baptist Church in North Charleston, according to The Palmetto Mortuary. Tywanza Sanders: Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emanuel AME in Charleston, according to Murray’s Mortuary in North Charleston. Sanders’ aunt was Susie Jackson and their funeral will be held at the same time.
