Second S.C NAACP rally calls for flag’s removal

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The South Carolina chapter of the NAACP hosted its second rally Saturday, calling for the removal of the Confederate flag flying in front of the State House. Hundreds gathered to protest, and listen to speakers and live music. S.C. NAACP President Lonnie Randolph said hosting the event on the Fourth of July was perfect timing. Randolph said calling for this change on America’s birthday couldn’t have been more fitting. The legislature starts debate over the Confederate flag Monday. the NAACP will hold a vigil the same day, to remember lives lost in acts of racial violence.
