Motorcyclist hit by car and killed in Hartsville parade

HARTSVILLE, S.C. (WOLO) — Investigators say a 35-year-old man has died after his motorcycle was hit by a car during a parade in Hartsville. Authorities said the Saturday morning wreck happened during a parade to honor Butler High School. Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee identified the victim as Jerry Mitchell of Hartsville. Authorities say the motorcycle driver lost control and slid under the car during the parade. A special team of state troopers is investigating the crash.
