SCE&G celebrating energy efficiency in West Columbia

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Electric & Gas is getting together with some West Columbia-area residents to celebrate accomplishments in energy efficiency.

Power company representatives are hosting an Empowerment Day on Saturday for residents of the Brookland-Lakeview neighborhood.

They’ll be celebrating the completion of SCE&G’s Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program. Organizers say a community breakfast and interactive energy efficiency demonstrations and workshops are part of the activities scheduled.
