SLED Investigates Deputy Shooting

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating a shooting involving two Lexington County deputies. According to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 4:45 pm Monday, two officers responded to a call in the 100 block of East Selwood Lane. The deputies arrived to find a man attacking a family member with a knife. Fearing for the life of the family member, authorities said both officers discharged their service weapon, fatally striking the subject. Both deputies have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of the investigation. ABC Columbia News will bring you more information as it becomes available.
