USC Preseason Practices Closed To Public

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Steve Spurrier vowed to make changes from a disappointing 7-6 football season in 2014. Those changes included hiring former Florida defensive coordinator Jon Hoke to fix the Carolina defense and an overhaul of the roster in the offseason. Monday the changes spilled over into preseason practice. USC announced Monday the Gamecocks will kick off preseason practice at 9 a.m. Tuesday August 4th. Unlike in previous seasons, all Carolina practices will be closed to the public unless determined otherwise by Spurrier. The Gamecocks do not have any two-a-day practices on their preseason schedule. Gamecock Fan Appreciation Day is set for Sunday August 16th from 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
