COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Columbia Fire Department is taking the time to say good-bye to one of their own. Firefighter Tyron Weston will be laid to rest Friday. The Columbia Fire Department is inviting the public to remember Weston and show their support. There will be a funeral procession, starting at 9:30 this morning. Weston will be escorted by Engine eight and 31 from the Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home to Bibleway Church at Atlas Road, where a service will be held at 11:00. The procession will be on Colonial Drive, Bull Street, Harden Street, Devine Street, Garners Ferry Road and Atlas Road, before finally ending at Bibleway Church. At each of the stations there will be a brief pause as the procession passes. Expect traffic delays along the route, especially on the 2400 block of Atlas Road, at the intersection of Atlas Road and Bluff Road. There will also be a graveside ceremony at Saint Mark Baptist Church, so expect traffic delays again around noon. Weston passed away Sunday morning. He had been a member of the Columbia Fire Department for nearly 25-years.
