Body Found of Missing Newberry Man

NEWBERRY, S.C. (WOLO) — The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office announced it has recovered the body of 66-year-old Henry Lee Brooks. Brooks body was found in waters near Black’s Bridge over Highway 391 Tuesday afternoon. “It is always tragic to have a situation end like this,” said Sheriff Lee Foster. “I join all public safety and the community in offering our condolences, thoughts, and prayers to the family.” Authorities said they do not suspect foul play. Brooks vehicle was found early Monday morning, abandoned on Black’s Bridge at the Newberry-Saluda county line. He had not been heard from since Saturday.
