Lexington woman dies in motorcycle accident

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A 19-year-old Lexington woman died in a motorcycle accident near West Columbia early Saturday morning. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual as Caitlin Clark, age 19, of Lexington, S.C. The crash happened in the 100 block of Saint Davids Church Road near West Columbia Officials say the motorcycle in which Clark was a passenger left the roadway on the right side and the driver lost control. Clark was believed to be wearing a helmet. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy performed on Saturday showed that she died from injuries she sustained in the accident. The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner‘s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
