Motion filed to delay Michael Slager’s bond hearing

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C (WOLO) – A motion to delay the bond hearing for Michael Slager was submitted to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office Monday. Defense attorneys filed the motion to delay the hearing of the former North Charleston police officer charged in the shooting death of Walter Scott. Slager was indicted in the shooting death of Scott during a traffic stop in April. His bond hearing was originally scheduled for August 27. Documents say Slager’s lawyer, Andy Savage, might not be able to attend the scheduled bond hearing due to a medical condition. Slager and his lawyers are requesting that the date of the bond hearing be pushed back to some time before September 10.
