Man shot to death at Columbia apartment complex

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Richland County deputies are investigating the shooting death of a man at a Columbia apartment complex.

Lt. Curtis Wilson told local media that officers were called to the complex just before midnight Monday.

Wilson said deputies found the victim lying between a vehicle and a moped. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says 21-year-old Khalil Harris died from several gunshots to the upper body.

Wilson said deputies are trying to determine a motive and identify a suspect or suspects.
