21-year-old arrested in connection with Little Mountain murder

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A fourth suspect was arrested Tuesday in connection with the Little Mountain murder that occurred last month. 21-year-old DeCarlos Satterwhite was taken into custody Tuesday custody and has been charged with murder, three counts of attempted murder, four counts of armed robbery, first-degree burglary, two counts of kidnapping, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The charges stem from a home invasion in Little Mountain July 29, where Ronnion Barron, 32, was shot and killed. “It was the invaluable assistance and partnership of the Newberry County Sheriff‘s Office, along with the SC Law Enforcement Division (SLED), the Richland County Sheriff‘s Department, the Columbia Police Department, and the Lexington County Sheriff‘s Department that has ensured the execution of superb investigative work”, said Sheriff Foster. Sheriff Foster also stated, “Working with these agencies, their department heads, and having these kinds of resources available to you at your request, makes doing the job worthwhile.” Authorities have already arrested a 16-year-old and 21-year-old in connection with the case. Keon Kelly, another suspect in the case, took his own life August 6, after a standoff with police. Satterwhite is currently being held at the Newberry County Detention Center.
