Newberry salon owner killed; 1 arrested

NEWBERRY, S.C. (AP) — Police are investigating the death of a hair salon owner in Newberry.

Interim Police Chief Roy McClurkin told local media that a family member found the victim dead in the shop around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Newberry County Coroner Craig Newton says 41-year-old Roberto Facio-Ledesma was shot in the head.

Police arrested 32-year-old Kenny Octavis Ruff of Newberry and charged him with murder and armed robbery. Ruff was being held in the Newberry County jail. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
