RSCD: Suspects sought for theft, fraud

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO) — Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting assistance from the community in locating two suspects for financial transaction card theft and financial transaction card fraud. Sheriff Leon Lott states that at 8pm on August 15 at the Publix located at 10128 Two Notch Road a victim was grocery shopping when approached by a complete stranger who started a friendly conversation with her. The Sheriff stated that while communicating with one suspect, another suspect stole the victim‘s wallet from her purse. The Sheriff stated that the suspects used the victim‘s credit cards at the following businesses: The Best Buy located at 10136 Two Notch Road and the target located at 10204 Two Notch Road. The suspects used the stolen credit card to purchase a Cannon Digital Camera for $756.00 and three gift cards valued at over $100 each at Best Buy. The suspects used the stolen credit card to purchase three gift cards valued at $160 each at Target. Sheriff Lott stated that the suspects are described as a white male approximately 5‘10″ wearing a long sleeve white shirt and blue jeans with a white baseball cap. The second suspect is described as a white female approximately 5‘4″ wearing a white sleeveless shirt and blue jeans.
