13 Fraternities suspended at USC following violations

COLUMBIA,S.C. (WOLO) — Thirteen fraternities at The University of South Carolina were suspended following violations of university and Fraternity Council policies. The letter sent out late Monday from Jonathan Withrow, the Vice-President of Conduct for the school’s Interfraternity Council says in part, “the organizations must cease all recruitment activity until their level of responsibility can be better determined.” The following fraternities receiving notification of suspension were: Alpha Epsilon Pi, Alpha Tau Omega, Chi Psi, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Kappa Alpha Order, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Gamma Delta, Phi Kappa Sigma, Phi Sigma Kappa, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Chi, Theta Chi, Tau Kappa Epsilon. USC Spokesperson Wes Hickman said to WOLO that “this is a positive example of students taking responsibility after some students reported the violations.”
