7 People Killed on SC Roadways During Labor Day Holiday
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Seven people have been killed on South Carolina roadways during the Labor Day holiday according to reports from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. The fatalities occurred between Friday, September 4, at 6 p.m. through Monday, September 7, at midnight. The findings from the study showed a 53 percent decrease from the Labor Day weekend of 2014, but an increase of 13 percent during the “100 Deadly Days of Summer,” which refers to the travel period from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A preliminary number of 271 traffic deaths were reported during the summer months, compared to 239 during the same time frame in 2014
