Sherman’s attack on the city in 1865. The State newspaper reports the contractors for South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. will begin digging up and removing 74 metallic objects found in the Congaree River.
LITCHFIELD BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Regulators have identified almost 1,200 nautical square miles off the South Carolina coast that have the potential to be leased for the development of wind energy. The largest potential tract is off Myrtle Beach. Others are off Charleston, Winyah Bay, and Cape Romain.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Souvenir hunters have flocked to Charlotte to collect a part of the city’s old coliseum. The Charlotte Observer reports Bojangles’ Coliseum is undergoing a $16 million renovation. As part of that work, the arena has offered 832 of its nearly 10,000 discarded wooden seats to the public.
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Greenville woman is scheduled to appear in court next week on computer crime charges involving fraudulent football game tickets for Clemson, South Carolina and other colleges. Melissa Grey was charged with second-degree computer crime last fall. Court records show additional charges were filed earlier this year.
