Husqvarna, Roadway employee accused of stealing equipment

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO) — Two men are facing charges after stealing lawnmower equipment from an Orangeburg County business. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said 36-year-old Peter Truesdall of Elloree and 57-year-old David Rosenfeld of Columbia devised “a plan to steal mowers in broad daylight acting as if nothing were wrong.” Truesdell was employed at Husqvarna in Orangeburg while Rosenfeld was a trucker for Roadway. The men were each charged Thursday with criminal conspiracy and grand larceny. Bond was set at $7,500 personal recognizance on each man. According to warrants against the men, Truesdell loaded two $1,700 machines onto a tractor trailer being driven by Rosenfeld on Sept. 2. The incident came to the attention of the OCSO when a warehouse employee noted there was no paperwork for the mowers to be shipped. Ravenell said the investigation is ongoing.
