10k raised during annual Cops on Tops

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Law enforcement agencies raised over $10,000 to benefit The Special Olympics South Carolina during the annual “Cops on Top of Doughnut Shops” fundraiser. The money was raised during a 3-day period to help support Special Olympics South Carolina athletes. During the annual event, officers with The Richland County Sheriff‘s Department, Lexington County Sheriff‘s Department, and the City of Columbia Police Department joined forces at four Krispy Kreme Doughnut Shops located throughout the midlands. 100% of money raised goes directly to our local athletes for training, equipment, and travel. The Special Olympics South Carolina provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
