Coroner rules death investigation a homicide

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Richland County Coroner released the cause of death of a woman found deceased Tuesday at a home on Paul Street. The body of 46-year-old Ann Marie Johnson was found in her residence as the result of a welfare check. An autopsy performed Wednesday morning indicated that Johnson died from strangulation. Coroner Gary Watts is ruling this a homicide. The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate.
