Man arrested for criminal sexual conduct with a minor

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — A 47-year-old Kershaw County man has been charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 14. Deputies with the Kershaw County Sheriff‘s Office arrested 47-year-old Robin Stover on Thursday. On September 23, the Kershaw County Sheriff‘s Office responded to a call concerning a 13-year-old girl who had advised a school resource officer that Stover had engaged in sexual relations with her at a residence in in the county. The following day Stover voluntarily went to the Kershaw County Sheriff‘s Office and asked to speak with the investigator assigned to the case. Authorities say that during their conversation, Stover told the investigator that he could not remember having sexual relations with the young girl, but that it could have happened. Stover later admitted to having sexual relations with the young girl after forensic evidence verified the minor’s claims, authorities say. He was taken into custody and transported to the Kershaw County Detention Center where he remains pending a bond hearing. Stover has previous arrests for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, DUI, DUS, breach of peace, criminal domestic violence, manufacturing crack cocaine and probation violations.
