COLUMBIA, S.C. — USC Athletics Director Ray Tanner said Tuesday the Gamecocks’ game with the LSU Tigers Saturday Oct. 10 could be moved to a different location after severe flooding in the midlands. “We’re not 100% sure at this time that we’ll have a game at Williams-Brice Saturday,” Tanner said Tuesday. “We’ll continue to monitor the infrastructure that’s necessary to have a football game.” USC Athletics tweeted Tuesday, “Biggest issues facing Saturday’s game include the water supply, highways, and first responders.” Tanner added Tuesday that the University hopes to have a decision made within 24-36 hours. “Our intentions are to play in Columbia, but it’s not a definite,” said Tanner. “We’ll continue to monitor it. There are a lot of concerns and a lot of things to consider.” Possible relocations for the game include Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Tiger Stadium) and Charlotte, North Carolina (Bank of America Stadium).
