Deputies looking for suspect in murder of 76-year-old woman

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies say a 76-year-old was murdered in her home on Edgewater Drive Sunday afternoon, in an apparent robbery. Authorities say they responded to the house on the 7800 block around 5:30 p.m. They found an eight-year-old girl tied up. She had made the 911 call. Initial information shows this was a robbery. Officials say the inside of the house was “disturbed.” The girl was taken to the hospital to be evaluated. Deputies are interviewing family members and witnesses in the area to figure out what happened. They say they’re looking for a black male, who was wearing an orange basketball jersey.
