SC State Fair opens Wednesday without delay

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Gates to the South Carolina State Fair opens Wednesday in Columbia after days of recovery efforts following historic flooding across the state.
Many of the vendors at the fair are using distilled water due to the boil water advisory from the floods.
This year there is a $5 parking fee.
All of the proceeds from parking fees will be donated to area flood relief.efforts.

This dinosaur is a baby Tyrannosaurus Rex and will be strolling around the fairgrounds to coincide with this summer‘s blockbuster theatrical release of “Jurassic Park 4″ the movie.
The iconic rocket at the state fair grounds sits 12 ft higher this year.
Other improvements include new entrance, shopping venues and exhibits.
Also new this year are these fair foods:
The Southern Belle Burger – a burger with bacon, pimento cheese salad, and fried green tomato.
Grandma Browns Cinnamon Rolls – your favorite cinnamon roll paired with the salty delight of bacon.
Sriracha Fire & Ice Kreme – creamy soft serve vanilla ice cream topped with spicy Sriracha sauce, nacho chips and whipped cream.
