State organizers move back high school playoffs

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – The flooding that affected South Carolina and played havoc with the high school football schedule has led the South Carolina High School League to push the playoffs and championship games back a week. The league announced this week that playoffs for Class A, Class 2A and Class 3 will begin Nov. 13, a week later than planned. The Class 4A playoffs will start Nov. 20, also a week later. The state championship games in Class A will be on Dec. 4. The Class 2A title game is Dec. 5. The Class 3A and Class 4A championship games will take place on Dec. 12. It is the first time since Hurricane Hugo in 1989 that the high school playoffs have been moved. Copyright 2015 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
