Reminder: Richland One and Two will operate on delay Oct 19-21

COLUMBIA, S.C. —Richland School District One and Two will operate on a one-hour delayed start for the week of Oct. 19–21. Richland One: Students should report to school one hour later than normal. Buses will pick up students one hour later than the posted pick-up times. School will start one hour later than normal (8:30 a.m. – elementary schools; 9:00 a.m. – high schools; and 9:45 a.m. – middle schools). District employees will report to work at their regular start times. Richland One‘s afterschool child care programs will operate October 19-23, but afterschool programs that require school bus transportation (21st Century Community Learning Centers, South Carolina Chamber Homework Centers, Comprehensive Remediation and Athletic Tutorial) will not be in operation. October 22 will remain an early release day for all schools. October 23, which was originally scheduled as a teacher workday/student holiday, will be a regular day for students and staff. Richland Two: Thursday, Oct. 22 and Friday, Oct. 23 will remain student holidays. Oct. 22 is a professional development day for teachers. There will be no early release on Wednesday, Oct. 21 for elementary and middle school students. All students will be released from school at their normal release time. All three-year old half-day classes will also resume on Monday, Oct. 19. The district asks that students report to school or their bus stop one hour later than they would normally report on a standard school schedule.
