The Salvation Army opens flood relief center

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — In an effort to assist citizens in the Midlands as they continue to put the pieces together following the historic flooding in the Palmetto State, The Salvation Army has established a Flood Relief Center. The center is located at 3400 Forest Drive in Columbia (old Eckerd Building at Richland Mall). Clean up kits and snack boxes will be distributed. In addition there will be limited clothing vouchers that can be redeemed at The Salvation Army Family Store. In order to receive assistance each person must have a FEMA ID number on the FEMA print out which shows your name and nine digit ID number. The name on the FEMA print out must match the name on your picture ID to receive service at appointment time. Monday, October 19th – Saturday, October 24th Monday, October 26th – Tuesday, October 27th Closed on Sunday Reservation times are separated into twenty minute appointments beginning at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Services will resume at 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. To schedule an appointment visit: https://www.salvationarmycarolinas.org/columbia/seeking-assistance/flood-relief/ Or call the South Carolina United Way 2-1-1 to assist with making an appointment.
