School districts getting back on schedule after floods
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — School districts in the Columbia area will soon be returning to their normal schedules after area flooding caused delays and reconfigurations of school bus routes.
Officials with Richland 1 and Richland 2 say their students will be back on track next week and will start classes at their normal times.
Hundreds of bus routes in Richland County had to be redrawn around road and bridge closures because of historic flooding earlier this month.
Schools in both districts have been on a one-hour delay this week as bus drivers learn new routes. Last week, the schools were on two-hour delayed starts.
