Suspect Arrested after Killing K9 Officer

ANDERSON, S.C. (WLOS) — A manhunt for a carjacking suspect who investigators say shot and killed a police dog is over. 23-year-old Sergio Martin was arrested in Anderson late Wednesday night after a manhunt. The sheriff says K9 officer Hyco was charging Martin following a traffic sto, when authorities say Martin opened fire, killing the dog. Martin then ran into the woods. Deputies spent the evening looking for him. The shooting happened after deputies stopped a car that had been reported stolen in a carjacking. Hyco was a 6 year member of force.
