Columbia , S.C. (WOLO) — Republican Presidential hopeful Jeb Bush made a campaign stop in Lexington on Tuesday for a town hall with South Carolina voters. “We‘re a great nation, we need to start acting like it again,” said Jeb Bush. Bush spoke in the town hall style meeting just one day after launching his refreshed campaign slogan ‘Jeb Can Fix It.’ The former Governor told South Carolinians the United States needs a leader with experience who is focused on restoring the veterans administration, fixing the tax system and creating a strong foreign policy. “We need to have a President that understands that we are strong, when we are strong we create less likelihood of engagement in the world,” said Bush. “I believe we need to replace the divider in chief with a Commander in Chief.” After last week‘s debate, many polls show Bush has lost ground lagging behind Republican front-runners Ben Carson and Donald Trump but with his experience as Governor, Bush said he has what it takes to lead the country. “It‘s not going to be about personalities on the stage or fancy soundbites, it‘s going to be about someone who has proven leadership skills to fix these big complex things,” explained Bush. After his stop in the midlands, Bush was heading to New Hampshire for the rest of the week to campaign.
