Clemson to close 2 grass parking lots due to rain

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — The Clemson athletic department has closed two grass parking lots and limited access to two others for those coming to watch the Tigers play Florida State Saturday on Saturday because of heavy rain in the area the past week.

The school announced Friday that more than five inches of rain fell this week, saturating campus and non-paved areas where football patrons park.

Last month, Clemson had numerous vehicles stuck in mud after the Georgia Tech game on Oct. 10 because of rain. The school used a helicopter to dry parking areas the next week in time for the football game against Boston College.

Lot 1 and Lot 2 will be closed to all vehicle parking. The school said there will also be limited availability for Lot 13 and Lot 14.
