Elliott offers condolences to late officer’s family

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina coach Shawn Elliott offered the football team’s condolences for Columbia Police Officer Stacy Case.
Case was killed Saturday night in a crash with a University of South Carolina officer as both were responding to a report of shots fired in Columbia. The other officer, Sgt. Allan Bolin, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Elliott said Tuesday he wanted Case’s family to know that the South Carolina football team was thinking about her. He also offered best wishes for Bolin’s recovery.
The Gamecocks (3-6, 1-6 Southeastern Conference) take on No. 11 Florida (8-1, 6-1) at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday.
