Colorado trooper killed while investigating accident

DENVER (AP) — Authorities say a Colorado State Patrol trooper was killed after being struck by a car while investigating an accident on an interstate south of Denver. The trooper was hit on southbound Interstate 25 near Castle Rock around 9 p.m. Sunday. The state patrol says the driver who hit her was taken into custody. Troopers lined up outside patrol offices in Castle Rock and saluted as a coroner’s procession carried the trooper away. Northbound and southbound lanes of the highway were shut down through the night and reopened Monday morning.
