Richland Co. coroner IDs man shot, killed on porch

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of the individual that died early Monday morning after being shot. The incident happened around 1:35 a.m. in the 1100 block of Queen Street. 40-year-old Richard Gilmore of Columbia died at the scene. Watts Gilmore died from complications of a gunshot wound to the upper body. The death has been ruled a homicide. The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate.
