70-year-old man shot to death in Sumter County home

LYNCHBURG, S.C. (AP) — Sumter County sheriff’s deputies say a 70-year-old man has been shot to death in his home in Lynchburg.
The sheriff’s office said in a news release they were called to the house around 10:45 p.m. Monday and found Joseph Frey dead from more than one gunshot.
Deputies say a second man was also shot in the chest and flown by helicopter to the hospital. He remained in critical condition Thursday.
A third man was in the home. Deputies say they charged 43-year-old Travis Jones of Florence with obstruction of justice after he lied to investigators about the shooting.
Investigators have not charged anyone yet in Frey’s killing.
Deputies did not give a motive for the shooting or how the three men in the home may have known each other.
