Gamecocks Beef Up Security

The safety of our fans is our top priority. In the wake of increased terrorist activity, we will be taking extra security steps at the upcoming games. Although extra security measures are being put in place, there has been no credible threat to our stadium. Measures are being taken out of an abundance of caution and to remain vigilant: Fans will see an increased presence of uniformed officers both inside and outside the stadium. Event staff will be extra diligent and thorough conducting bag checks of fans entering the stadium. Fans are advised to come early to the game to avoid any extra possible delay in bag check lines. Fans are encouraged to not bring bags into the stadium. If bags are essential, utilizing a clear plastic bag may shorten wait time. The university has been working with federal, state and local law enforcement to share intelligence and coordinate public safety efforts. Fans and game staff are reminded that security is everyone‘s responsibility and are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. If you see something, say something.
