Moody’s 30 lead Ole Miss to 76-60 victory
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Stefan Moody had a career high 30 points and Marcanvis Hymon scored 20 points on 10-of-11 shooting to lead Mississippi to a 76-60 victory over Towson at the Charleston Classic on Friday.
The Rebels (3-1) recovered nicely from the season’s first defeat to George Mason on Thursday. They shot 74.1 percent in the opening half to take a 48-26 lead. Moody led the way, making seven of his 10 field goals for 17 points.
Towson (1-3) used a 16-2 run at the start of the second half to slice the Rebels’ lead to 50-42 with 14 minutes to play. But behind Moody and Hymon, Mississippi opened things up again and stayed comfortably out front the rest of the way.
Byron Hawkins had a career-best 28 points to lead the Tigers.
Hymon’s point total was also his career high showing at Ole Miss.
