Emanuel AME Choir Among Performers During Annual Governor’s Carolighting
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Governor Nikki Haley, First Gentleman Michael Haley and the First Family will kick off the holiday season at the 49th Annual Governor‘s Carolighting, held on the north steps of the South Carolina Statehouse, on Monday, November 30. Family festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m.. The event is open to the public. These South Carolina musical ensembles will perform at this year‘s event: Carolighting Children‘s Choir Dreher High School Choir Emanuel AME Choir Furman Bell Tower Boys Hallelujah Singers Southern Bronze Handbell Ensemble Fort Jackson‘s Own 282nd Brass Band The Columbia Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Columbia Garden Club and the Garden Club of South Carolina are sponsors of the 49th Annual Governor‘s Carolighting. Pinetum Christmas Tree Farm – a Swanton, Maryland farm owned by Marshall and Cindy Stacy who own a home in the Lowcountry – donated this year‘s tree as a gesture of hospitality and good will toward the state of South Carolina following the tragic flooding earlier this year.
