Two Children Die in House Fire in Sumter County

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) — Two children are dead following a house fire Monday evening in Sumter County. Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock said the fire claimed the lives of 7-year-old Treveah Myers and 5-year-old Isaya Cook. Investigators say the fire began just before midnight at a home off Highway 261. Authorities tell ABC Columbia the children were staying with their grandmother because they’re mother worked nights. The grandmother was able to escape without injuries officials say.
